Welcome to the Blaine Sector

October 21, 2008

The interim replacement for Agent Giuliano, who was arrested last week for child rape, has been named. Help me in welcoming the new Deputy Chief Patrol Agent for Washington, Oregon and Palin’s Alaska…. Agent Henry Rolon.

I know, I read Rolon and thought Rollins too. Can you imagine Henry Rollins, second in command of the Border Patrol’s Blaine Sector? Fucking heads would roll and press conferences would never be the same.

So, Agent Rolon. Obviously you know this sector has problems. Maybe you can paint a better picture for us citizens. How exactly was having a child rapist in charge of capturing terrorists and Mexicans, saying “trust the Border Patrol?” Does raise a few questions, don’t ya think?

Questions like,

  • Where’s Agent Bates?
  • How far down the chain of command did Giuliano’s “management style” go?
  • When will agents start speaking Farsi, Pashto or Dari, instead of Spanish?
  • When will Agent Bermudez roll out the new PR campaign?
  • We know that Norm Dicks had more to say to you than just “stop being gruff.” Will you listen?
  • When will you release the surveillance video?
  • How many agents were involved with the Youtube video?

Yes Agent Rolon, you’re going to have to do a much better job at pushing propaganda than Bermudez, Giuliano or the boys in Port Angeles. I think I’m paraphrasing Representative Dicks when I say, citizen checkpoints are not going to fly.

Enjoy the video some of your agents in Port Angeles made. Then get back to us.

Our post-911 world now includes an arbitrary, federalized- 100 mile- security zone set up to treat people as guilty until proven innocent.

Internal, suspicionless checkpoints point to a complete failure of standard border procedures.

In Washington State- does the 100 mile security zone extend only south from Canada, or does it also extend inland from the Pacific- as if boat people on homemade rafts and inner tubes were coming in through the frigid, violent and sometimes deadly surf zone?

If you are driving a safe car in a safe manner- you should not be pulled over.

If the terrorists hate our freedom, maybe they are pleased to see it restricted.

Excellent! Another article for my peace psychology class!
I think this one is extra special because it shows my congressman engaging in institutional and cultural violence and has a superb example right there in his quote of the “just world” theory.
