Soundgarden Friday

February 4, 2011

It’s here, it’s Soundgarden Friday!

Some Fridays are Rage Against the Machine Fridays…some are Metallica Fridays.  Some Tuesdays are dark and depressing…those are known as Celine Dion Tuesdays.  All things we should keep in mind as we go about our busy, semi-productive days here in the Homeland.

From the “where did my beer and sock fund go” front, we have Admiral Mullen.  When Mike’s not spending the pretend inheritance you planned on leaving your children…in Vietghanistan, Iraq, Yemen or Blackwater, he’s cautioning us that stopping our annual payment of 1.5 billion dollars to Egypt…won’t buy Mubarak’s replacement very many U.S. tanks, jets or bowls of delicious Kibbeh.

Senator John McCain would agree, except he’s pretty busy wringing his hands over anything that resembles democracy, trying to rear its ugly head anywhere here in the Homeland.

Dementia and insanity being what they are…John probably meant to insinuate that he’s concerned about the spread-age of freedom in the Middle East, not Coeur d’Alene.

A segue is supposed to help us transition smoothly from one subject to another.  I’d like to think that riding a Segway in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho might accomplish this better.  But that’s just me.

Coeur d’ Alene!  Tacos!  White people!  Segue!  I read in the Cowles news outlet, that two in a half white supremacists were picketing taco trucks in Coeur d’ Alene.  Not only did I find the visual hilarious…but I found myself wishing that my cameras and I were there to capture it.  A few tacos would be awesome as well.

But kudos to Shawn Vestal and the white folks of Spokane and Coeur d’ Alene for stepping up!  If only we had done so back in the
dark days.

As the tacos go in Coeur d’ Alene…so goes the Black Rain of the Homeland.

Segue people, segue!
