NY Times Meet Awal Gul

Two New York Times reporters were detained in Egypt by the Mukhabarat…our CIA trained, much dreaded Egyptian Secret Police.
Souad Mekhennet and Nicholas Kulish are the reporters and the link to their ordeal is here. Not something many of us would like to go through.
Now meet the recently deceased Awal Gul. He just died in Guantanamo after having spent 9 years there…in a cage, never having been charged with a crime. Awal Gul certainly met with harsher treatment than the two NYT reporters. Yet you never heard of Gul, until he died. In Obama’s Guantanamo.
Bradley Manning, WikiLeaks, Abu Ghraib, Bagram and countless other black sites and nameless other victims of the Obama-Bush torture regime, are the result of our collective apathy.
The revolution in Egypt has nothing to do with anything—that we care to know too much about.
New York Times, meet Awal Gul.
