Poets Know It

July 19, 2010

I was fortunate enough to be in a room filled with white folks, who were held captive by a Latino poet.  His words ebbed and flowed like the inbound and outbound pipes of a sewage treatment plant…the shit flows in and better smelling, shit flavored water flows out.

The Latino poet spoke of Frederick Douglass and Obama in the same breath.  And the white, progressively progressive Democrats, did gasp in excited unison, as the poets words washed away their complicit guilt…as if Frederick or the President himself, had bathed the gathered immigrants in an explosive orgasm of guilt-free comeuppance.

An apathetic roomful of slaves to the irony.

In news that would only shock a roomful of progressives, Bush used the Constitution as a tampon, to guard against the flow of common sense and freedom…and President Obama went to the store to buy some more.  The Washington Post spent two years confirming that what I say is true…but you should go read it anyway.

If you can’t stand not looking at funny cat pictures or forwarding prayer warrior emails for more than 3 minutes…just read the list of companies that have prospered from the wars on roomfuls of gasping, apathetic poetry listeners of the Homeland.  Go here, and think of President Eisenhower as you gaze upon the list of freedom.

Moving right along in goose-stepping glory, VP Biden says pulling out of Vietghanistan maaaayyyyy be a little slower than promised. Halliburton’s 2nd-quarter profits are up 83 percent and the white washing poetry of your local news outlet, is ready to be read to its next audience of gasping activists.

and the brown children of Vietghanistan, Iraq, Mexico and Detroit…did cry.

Hahahaha, I love your cynical and honest way of telling a story.

You have a great blog here. I just stumbled across it purely by accident using Readomattic!

Keep writing and peering beneath the usual veneer of people 😉

Thanks philosopherpoet…I’m no poet, hell, I barely know where a comma goes. But I do enjoy peeling the layers of the Homeland back and peering inside at those of us who make the Homeland and all of it’s glory…possible.

I’ve been accused of being a writer, poet and or Marxist-Liberal-Nazi…just depends on who it is that stumbles across the Lens on any particular day. I think Norm Dicks stopped by once, he left me a 65 million dollar earmark to enhance salmon runs and clean up Hood Canal. I used it to finance Cindy Sheehan and bought loads of Mobilisa stock.

Actually I’m a good photog with anarchist tendencies, but I fear spray paint and love having one person in charge at the meetings I attend?

I do think I think like a poet…I just struggle with the whole English language thingy.

      Thanks Breana!

If the role of a poet is to lift the veil before our eyes and show us the truth, than you’re a poet and a photog, lens.

Poet sounds better than shit-shoveler, which is what is needed to remove all this shit covering the truth these days.

Poet, or fellow shoveler. Thanks, lens.

I suspect many of my readers in DC, Virginia, Maryland and Colville, WA.
already know me as the shit-shoveler.

I do have a certain je ne sais quoi to my thoughts though. No? Oui?

Thanks barman…hope all is well in Spokanistan.
