Sherman Alexie has a Potty Mouth?

The new white folks that own the Sonics are trying to keep Sherman Alexie, quiet. They claim that Sherman will just add to the growing media circus and quite possibly, teach poor kids in Oklahoma bad words. I can think of no better way to keep this Sonics soap opera of stupidity, from spiraling down the media circus hole of negative attention, than trying to keep Sherman Alexie, quiet.

Being that the world does indeed revolve around Spokane, I put forth some time ago, a semi decent proposal that would have made most parties involved, somewhat happy. Read it here. So screw Oklahoma, Seattle didn’t fight hard enough, let’s look at Spokane!

Spokane is far better prepared than Oklahoma to take on these dysfunctional Sonics. Spokane will absolutely come unhinged for a new Sherman Alexie book. The insanity that would be unleashed if the Sonics/Lilacs were to move to Spokane….indescribable.

Some background for the Spokane newcomer. The Lilac City loves Sherman, he is a living legend. He dwells near the top of the Spokane legend list with names like, Randy Shaw, Bing Crosby, John Stockton, Evel Knievel and several other white people.

Other points of Spokane consideration include;

• Spokane already has a farm team in Gonzaga
• Hoopfest!
• Dan Kleckner hates doing the weather
• The Inlander, where Sherman’s new “Lilac Watch” would live
• Greater Spokane Incorporated and Dawn Picken. (Dawn, my new Debra Wilde!)

So what say you Spokane? Start emailing Sherman, the Sonics and the Seattle news outlets. Tell them of this “Spokane” and keep in mind, if Sherman moves back with the Lilacs, Too Slim might too.
