Do yourselves a favor and just stop. Alabamans and the French are perfectly capable of building tankers. The misfits that helped blow this deal for Boeing, run the company. Those same misfits are also helping to keep you employed.

The French “tanker from hell” as you seem to think of it, does indeed contain non American parts and labor. As does the Boeing tanker. Columnist Danny Westneat beat me to my main point. Go ask a machinist at Boeing to fill you in on how locally built the Boeing product is. Then, shut the hell up.

Boeing employees are indeed angry and Boeing employees will indeed hold management accountable. Washington State voters are also angry. So spare us the gamesmanship. Save your pretend outrage for your next fundraising dinner extravaganza. Go to a dark, quiet room and reflect on what you have been witness to for the last seven years. Reflect on your role in allowing it to happen.

Because dear Norm and Patty, if you can not come to terms with your complicity and attempt to repair the damage both of you have done, we as your employer, will damn well fix it for you.
