Eisenhower’s Folly

Robert Gates the Supreme Commander of Defense says dark days are ahead.  This is because we refuse to give North Korea unlimited access to American junk food and television.  Bob also mentioned that NK poses no direct military threat to the Estados Unidos.

In other words, President Obama’s package of job stimulation, includes the invasion of North Korea and a military draft.  Mainly because they are running out of ways to justify spending 10 to 15 billion dollars a month, on the other two unending wars on the American taxpayer, and the unfortunate brown people who live in theater.

Besides, what the fuck else can Boeing, Norm Dicks and the CIA do to keep busy?  A planet full of fat and peace loving humans does not make for happy CEO’s.

Iraq Fail

So whats up Iraq?  Were you not paying attention during all of those Rumsfeld/Bremmer/Rice and Wolfowitz how-to briefings on Democracy?

A quick refresher on what we like to call, rule number one.  You do not arrest corrupt politicians for Christs sakes.  You use the Department of Fox News and discuss abortion and Mexicans instead.

Remember dear Iraq, corruption is the flotation device of Democracy and the anchor of freedom.

Words Have Meaning

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.  Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.  Hate multiplies hate, violence multiplies violence, and toughness multiplies toughness in a descending spiral of destruction…The chain reaction of evil-hate begetting hate , wars producing more wars-must be broken, or we shall be plunged into the dark abyss of annihilation.

Martin Luther King Jr.

I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts.

Abraham Lincoln

When we have taken steps that have violated the Geneva Conventions we rightly have been criticized, so as we move forward I think it’s important to again live our values.  I don’t think we should be afraid of our values we’re fighting for, what we stand for and so indeed we need to embrace them.

General David Petraeus

Let’s hope that the key conferences aren’t when [Sotomayor]‘s menstruating or something, or just before she’s going to menstruate. That would really be bad. Lord knows what we would get then.

Witness Spanish matador Israel Lancho.  He is getting what is known as payback, Karma or possibly his just desserts?  Go here for even more.

So many metaphor possibilities here.  So many rotten Cheney
and CIA apples.

Obama FEMA Camp Fodder

Posted in activism, congress, hope, media, News, politics, The Homeland, torture with tags , , , , , , , on May 28, 2009 by lens1

Watch, listen and contemplate this question asked at a White House press conference.

I smell four hundred thousand new additions to President Obama’s ‘FEMA Camp Rendition Program’.  Can you for the life of your favorite cat, fathom the depths of stupidity that is allowed to walk around freely in this great country of ours?  Yeah, I can too.

Distractions, distractions.  Birth certificates, bailouts of billionaires, is it a Bush or Obama economy?, Lost, Survivor and Grey’s Anatomy!

So little time, so many good shows!

Enemy Combatants Undermine the Homeland

Posted in congress, Events, media, News, politics, The Homeland with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on May 27, 2009 by lens1

Their names are Rove, Buchanan, Limbaugh, Hannity and Cheney.  This is but one small homegrown terrorist cell.  There are many others.

I believe Homeland Security, that we have laws and signing statements, that allow you to take those that would do us harm, off of the streets.  Indefinitely.  No need for any inconvenient trials in a civilian court either!

So come on Homeland, leave the Mexicans alone.  This is a slam dunk.  These homegrown terrorists are easier to find than a daily CIA President Bush, bin Laden determined to fly airplanes into a big building in New York City brief.  You don’t even need to build a pretend case against these evil doers…just turn on your teevee or read the Washington Times for fucks sakes.

Remember Those Who Drove

Posted in "veterans for peace", activism, hope, News, politics, The Homeland, Washington State with tags , , , , , , , , , on May 26, 2009 by lens1

Memorial Day weekend 2009 has passed.  Statistically speaking, only a handful of you spent Monday remembering those who served and never came home.

The vast majority of Washingtonians spent hours sitting in traffic on I-90, I-5 and new for this year, Hwy 101 on Hood Canal.  Many of these vehicles, contained the internal combustion engine and displayed one or more magnetized yellow ribbons of patriotism and pretend troop support.

So today we remember those who drove.  Because freedom isn’t free and neither is the gas.

Lemon drops man.  Lemon drops…

Slow Port Angeles News Day

Posted in economy, Events, journalism, media, News, port townsend, The Homeland, Washington State with tags , , , , , , , on May 24, 2009 by lens1

Actually, every day is a slow news day in PA.  You can only report on yet another meth related arson/arrest/theft and the bored Border Patrol…so many times.  Fortunately, there is the Hood Canal bridge closure.  The biggest thing to have happened on the Peninsula since Miami Vice left the air.

Today the Peninsula Daily News ran this fun little article, right here.  We here at the Lens ran the same, yet different article, 23 days ago, right here.  As PDN Editor and Publisher John Brewer likes to say, better late than never…and Democrats suck ass!

Thanks John.
