Yet Another Boycott

Posted in Events, journalism, media, politics, The Homeland, Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , on March 31, 2009 by lens1

Bill O’ Reilly has added another boycott to his man satchel of boycotts.  Bill had just recently ended his french fries boycott, only to add Sean Penn to his list of boycottiness.

Now Bill is going after Spain.  Yes, that Spain.  How large is Bill’s man satchel of boycotts?  How many boycotts can one pretend journalist start?  Who pays this piece of shit?  This is who pays that piece of shit.

I don’t think anyone is expecting an inquisition, but then again, nobody ever does.

Before Coffee…

Posted in music, seattle, The Homeland, Uncategorized, Washington State, Washington State Blogs with tags , , , , , , , on March 30, 2009 by lens1

There was Gruntruck.

After coffee, there was…okay, there is no after coffee.

But I did find my old Gruntruck cassette.

I also could not find a way to play it.

Big Fake Outrage

Posted in congress, News, politics, The Homeland, Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , on March 30, 2009 by lens1

Words spoken by Senator Corker from Tennessee, “This is a major power grab by the White House on the heels of another power grab.”

Words Twittered by Senator John McCain, while eating some pudding, “Calling for GM CEO to resign is unprecedented window dressing.”

Words directed back to both outraged Senators…Harold Ford Jr. and Sarah Palin.

Now shut the fuck up, gentleman.

Bill O’ Reilly is a Journalist?

Posted in Events, journalism, media, News, politics, The Homeland with tags , , , , , , , , , , on March 30, 2009 by lens1

Bill O’ says he is boycotting Sean Penn.  Bill O’ also calls himself a journalist.  Bill O’ is to journalism what Steve O’ is to cottage cheese.

Since Bill’s interview is too stupid to link to, I give you several minutes of a sea urchin eating a cookie.  It’s far more important and entertaining, than Bill.

Our Prime Directive

Posted in News, peace, politics, The Homeland with tags , , , , , , , , , on March 28, 2009 by lens1

Kirk had one.  He and his inclusive crew of aliens, Mexicans and a Russian, were on a peaceful mission.  In keeping with their Prime Directive,  Kirk and his inclusive crew, were not to interfere in the lives of any developing alien cultures they came across.  No matter how evil their rulers were.  No matter how long those evil rulers had been on the Federations payroll.

Our Prime Directive is similar, yet just like Kirk, we end up ignoring it most of the time.

For a good time, call 867-5309.  For a good article drawing parallels between Star Trek and our smug misdeeds, go read this article by William Astore at TomDispatch.

Then watch Kirk in action.  Apparently, Mr. Astore is painfully correct.

Reeks of Oscar

And Demi?

Okay, yes I’m jealous.

If only Twentieth Century-Fox Films would pay even more people like Ashton, or me, to travel the world taking pictures of Demi’s ass, while discussing existentialism and Demi’s “quirks” with Mr Willis.  Add a Twitter or three about my awesome bowel movements, follow that up with some heartfelt whining over my haters, coupled with yet another movie deal and oh what a beautiful, less expensive world it would be.

Tadgarden does Spoonman

Posted in artist, Events, music, News, seattle, The Homeland, Washington State with tags , , , , , , , , , , on March 27, 2009 by lens1

That’s it.  My plaid shirts, Artis and I, are moving to Seattle.

Some words from Tom Morello, ” I haven’t been this fucking excited about something in a long time.”  Why was Tom so fucking excited?  Because he was playing rhythm guitar for three guys. Kim Thayil, Matt Cameron and Ben Sheppard from that little Soundgarden band, from back in the day.  Tad Doyle is on the vocals, because Chris Cornell is not.

A much welcomed distraction from the world, such as it is, for us old hair farmers.  You can read more about the Tadgarden happening, right here.

Watch, listen and blame Cornell for the poor video quality.  It is indeed, better than nothing.
