Kerouac’s Roslyn

if the worth of art was based upon what idaho thinks it might be,
seattle would then gentrify until
portland looked like idaho thinks spokane should be.

With logic like this, have you considered a career in foreign policy for the defense department?

I did used to drink cheap tequila for them in the Air Force…but I drew the line at saluting coked-up “butter bars” under alert B-52’s which set me on the path you’re witnessing today. So in a pre-Homelandian sort of way…I suppose I added to the insane asshatery that is our foreign policy.

This is an incredible shot…the composition, the texture. The verse speaks the truth in abstract logic. Dare I ask what a “butter bar” is?

Jeff, I’m going to use those first two sentences as my go-to review for all of my upcoming shows I haven’t planned yet…

A butter bar is a 2nd lieutenant, their insignia was one gold bar on their collars. They were generally fresh out O college or the academy…full of useless knowledge and wielding very little power. They got little respect from us enlisted types, because, well, we knew the Russians and Chinese weren’t coming, so the butter bars were fair game.
