Communal Homeland of Fear

February 7, 2010

“Indiana trees hangin us instead of leaves…”

Distractions, it’s all about the Sarah Palin distractions.  There’s also a Health Scare distraction, a recession/depression of distracting oppression and the fact that your freedom isn’t free.

It’s all so very…distracting.

GE, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Blackwater and the Entities of the Homeland, have no shortage of funds.  Why do you?

Billions and trillions for war after war, and all you get is change
and a Palin?

The war on drugs is and was, a war on color and the classless masses.  Who profits from the hope?  It sure as fuck ain’t the sellers of the dope.  Profit to the prophets and the sellers of the hope…now we’re all hangin from a rope.

It used to be an exclusive club, but now, more of us have a shot at the exclusivity.  Welcome to the club, terrorist Bill, Joe and Bob.

“I ain’t bendin’ for the soap…”

Back in the day, Chuck D was trying to tell the world something
about us.

The irony…

Tea Baggers, the Anarchists, the pretend Progressives, the Conserva-Dems, the Conserva-Repubs and the violence free anti-war protesters that went home…are all now living in one big communal Homeland of fear and repression.

All of them fear for their well-being.  Their freedoms are under attack.  Employment, equal pay, education, housing and affordable health care, has become something only a certain “segment” of society has
access to.

All of them fear the fear, yet do not hear.

Enemies are everywhere!  War is inevitable!  You will do as you’re told and you will be screwed, bought and sold.

Raise your hand if you really think this is a new phenomenon here in the Homeland.  I’d say welcome to the club, my pals of the Tea, Progressive, and party of the Anarchy.

But we really have no idea…

Did Chuck D know something we didn’t?  Of course not.  His American experience does not resemble the American experience most of us like to think we know.  Opportunity is what we knew.

Welcome to the communal Homeland of fear, Brad…Suzy, Billy Joe Bob.

I think Chuck D is still working on the revolution.  Revolutions are not just about storming the gate; revolutions require those who are not easily distracted, or easily divided.

Chuck D’s revolution is your revolution.  You should try it some time.

I am no longer afraid. I’m not resigned to what is and what will probably be, either. I am, instead, steeled. Hardened. Anodized, even.

And that’s dangerous. But it is what must be.

I don’t mean that I will commit an intentional act of violence against another living being. Far from it! However, it is what it is. And I do wish others saw it that way too. That really is the only way out, I believe.
