Yes the vertically challenged Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, is expected to sign off on Gen. Stanley “War Criminal” McChrystal’s planned surge of victory in Afghanistan!
The general, when not doing one arm push ups and masturbating to yet another CIA torture show, wants to expand the war on the Mujahideen Taliban Al Qaeda Representative Norm Dicks created friends, who incidentally, had nothing to do with 9/11, Iraq or David Letterman’s extorted penis.
Also, keep in mind that Iran has WMD’s hidden in the desert, we have proof of aluminum tubes and word of Iranian Yellow Cake…because the CIA tells us so.
Stop me if you’ve heard this shit before.
If recent history can tell us anything about ourselves, then we know that everything Gates, McChrystal and now President Obama, have to say about Afghanistan, is a lie.
Do not look for things to go well.
The Vigilant Lens 
The TV told me it’s truck month again down at the dealership.
I haven’t been thinking about much else.
When I was paying attention to war related discussion forums in Seattle papers I noticed that commenters sometimes say things like:
“This is not the place to vent about your political views.”
“People are dying to give you the right to sit at home and make comments on your computer.”
“You have no business commenting on what is going on in Iraq unless you’ve been there.”
“You’d be speaking German if it wasn’t for the US military- got freedom, thank a vet.”
“Freedom isn’t Free.”
The neutered father figures who read the news on TV don’t touch on this. Their sponsors don’t want people to be distracted from being good shoppers and consumers.
I haven’t flown my flag upside down- yet.

It’s true.
Online/newspaper/teevee forums are full of the paralyzed and the hypnotized, all fighting to get their macho on. DOD approved talking points abound.
Sure there are a few folks like yourself…trying to bring just a bit of sanity and common sense to the debate, but I for one, think that ship sailed.
The Homeland is teeming with teevee watching drones, who when pressed, could barely get off their couches of freedom to go shopping, let alone take up arms against their pretend enemies.
The Homeland fear people like you and I Alex.
They do not like their subjects educated and active.
Active, educated and awake subjects make for scary places…like France.
A quick glance at our wars, economy, healthscare, racism and the brain-dead you referenced…are proof in and of themselves that we should be questioning everything.
Of course that makes me a traitor.
