Snow Happened
December 18, 2008

On the Olympic Peninsula. A good 2 inches or so…and it shut us down!
To my friends in Central and Eastern Washington who are dealing with snow depths that are deeper and whiter than a BIAW/Rossi fundraiser…I say good luck with that and I’ll see you in June!

The parade ground at Fort Worden I suspect, looking sorta southeast? Many years ago I walked there with my grandfather as he gave me a tour of the harbor defenses, I remember it was spitting snow and rain, gray skies, as cold as it can only be at sealevel. I’m sure he imparted some pearl of wisdom, but all I really remember was how slick the steps were, how violent the weather seemed, and the cup of tea in front of the franklin stove after, looking through the kitchen window at the tugs on the Straits.
We’re buried here in Spokanarama. A final parable of these times perhaps..though it seems interminable, spring will come, so go have a beer.
Thanks for the memory.

Exactly barman.
I’ve been hanging out there since the early 90’s
The same weather, boats and possibly wisdom,
still go on there today.
It’s a great place.
Yes…Spokane Snow Storm 2008!
I do not miss the real snow…
Thanks barman.
