It may be Trent’s song…but Johnny, I don’t know, his
    version is very powerful.

That’s a pretty powerful message there. You don’t want to be left with that kind of sadness.

Rick Rubin’s brilliant vision of putting a microphone in front Of JC with just his guitar and soulful voice of experience was genius, and we are fortunate to have the American Recordings as a result. Hey, Rubin’s the guy who put Run-DMC and Aerosmith together. Johnny was disgusted with the lack of interest shown by Columbia Records in the 80s, and recorded the very funny “Chicken in Black” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_uM87NTFW4) in an effort to get away from them. It worked, and after short stint with Mercury Records, Mr. Rubin found him and rest is recording history. Great stuff, all round.

I really like Johnny’s version…I’m familiar with some of Rick Rubin’s work with various bands, sounds like I need to check him out further.

      Thanks Els
