Change Moves Very Slowly

July 28, 2008

Most bored Seattleites could give a shit about brown people dying in the Middle East, let alone just down the street. Dead American soldiers? Only sucks if you knew one.

But there is hope. A movement is afoot. Thousands of people showed up in the street to protest the end of days for the Sonics. A few lucky activists even got to stand next to the Glove. Several of you activist, bike riding protesters of cool stuff, were attacked by a gay, Subaru driving, former bike riding activist. Tough times for activists.

Save Fannie Mae? Bitch, please! Who cares! Starbucks is going to close the Capitol Hill store! The time to act is now. Start signing those petitions, save a Starbucks. Do Dr. King proud.

Change moves very slowly. Very, very slowly.

And in the wrong direction. Just like Howard Schultz knew you would.

WTF? I guess in all that goes on, in the end, it is all on us. You and Me. What is your obsession? Does it actually matter? Shouldn’t we all make one big push at the bigger picture agendas? Could we stretch, just for a minute, beyond the reach of our own arms?

Or, we could talk about coffee.

Thanks for reminding us to look at ourselves and ask – WTF?.

    I like brown people.
I’ve even been accused of being one…
    Go figure.

    Oh, and what you said.
    Thanks…
