Longview Longshoremen Unload “Hot Sand”

Hot sand? Sun baked near Moses Lake perhaps? No this is some very special hot sand, sun baked in Kuwait. 6700 tons of it contaminated with depleted uranium and lead, shipped to and then unloaded at the Port of Longview.
American Ecology in Idaho will be the proud new owner of the sand we are not supposed to fear. The disposal company and the Army say this sand is so safe, they just might “lose” some of it on the way to Idaho. Maybe spread it out along the way, or dump a bunch of it in Tri-Cities. Good thing they’re used to hot sand over there…
