Boeing, Tankers and Fences?

February 29, 2008

Project 28?

Boeing and their Global Tanker Team will win the 40 billion dollar contract to build the new air-refueling tanker for the Air Force. The “announcement” is slated for today at 1400 hours. Team Boeing is readying the champaign in Chicago, Seattle, Wichita and in Patty and Norms respective offices. Party on!

There might be one small issue though. While Boeing appears to have very competent aerospace engineers and workers to build said tankers, they recently spent about 86 million dollars to build a fence. The fence don’t work. This “virtual fence” was dubbed Project 28 and it failed to live up to Boeing’s fence building hype and capabilities.

One might joke that maybe Boeing should have hired a few day laborer’s that undoubtedly passed by during construction, to assist in this fence building. I just wont go there….Wonder if Norm and Patty went there?

We will know in about 5 minutes or so!
